Rushikant Test Three

It may be surprising, but in a modern cloud native application, only 10-20% of code is unique to the application. The majority of code is actually in the stack of libraries and frameworks used by the application, and this introduces vulnerabilities based on outdated versions. Even further, in the cloud you will never touch the hardware, rather you configure your network setup by means of a configuration — which opens the door for misconfigurations.

Don’t get us wrong here. It is not that the old days of on-prem hardware and software were so much more secure, it’s just that the risks have evolved, so the countermeasures need to as well. In a modern DevOps environment, development teams share the responsibility for application security with other teams like networking or data stewards. This means making sure libraries are up-to-date and infrastructure is properly configured.
