Corporate attorneys and legal operations professionals were surveyed on their spend management plans and sophistication, department priorities and maturity of their legal operations, and their staffing and diversity plans. The report also contains insight into how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted their operations in 2020, and details the most commonly used metrics for law department operations and best practices used by leading organizations.
One key finding: In a year characterized by rapid change and uncertainty, companies have gone all-in on legal operations, with 81% of law departments surveyed indicating they now have a dedicated legal operations staff—a jump from just 57% in last year’s report.
